If you want to say I Love You

You can Tweet that too!

We’re a social bunch, so when it comes to love we just want to ‘share’!

Social Media is such a powerful media for spreading love and good will, but did you know that there is ‘Netiquette’? A little bit of thought goes a long way. Used properly with sensitivity it can be a brilliant way of communicating with your squeeze. But if you forget to engage brain, then the fall out can be terminal.

Stick to our social do’s and don’ts this Valentine’s Day and you can’t go far wrong:

Do: Tweet a flirty “Happy Valentine’s Day” direct message, saying how much you are looking forward to your date.

Don’t: Tweet openly all the details – where you’re meeting and what you’re going to be getting up to later on!

Do: Post photos of your presents / the dress you’re going to wear on your date / your meal. Your friends will send a flurry of ‘likes’ for moral support.

Don’t: Post personal film footage of yourselves from later that evening on You Tube – unless you want a career in pornography!

Do: Plan in ‘Face time’ if you can’t physically be together.

Don’t: Post photographs of the two of you together as a couple or tag them as your boy / girlfriend or change your Facebook status to ‘In a Relationship’ without their OK. If the relationship is new, your other half might not be quite ready to go public.

Do: Send a Valentine e-card.

Don’t: Send a raunchy or slushy one to their work email – especially if they work in an open plan office!

Don’t: Forget to log off, or leave your password lying around. You might find that you’ve been sending love messages to someone wholly inappropriate in your absence.

Don’t: Have an open conversation about how your date went. If it didn’t go well the last thing anyone wants is a Jeremy Kyle moment!

Do: Stop, re-read and think before you hit ‘post’.
